I can’t believe its been 6 months since I posted last!
2014 was a very challenging year and perhaps I’ll write more about it soon, but I just wanted you to know I haven’t forgotten about you and I thank you for all your prayers and encouraging emails for our daughter and granddaughter.
Our granddaughter is doing wonderfully. She is growing and developing at warp speed and we love her to pieces!!! She is so much fun. Those of you who are grandparents know what I’m talking about.
Our daughter was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease and she is on some medicine to hopefully put this disease in remission. So, we appreciate your continued prayers for her as this is new territory. She and her husband are handling this all so well and trusting the Lord each step of the way.
I know many of you struggle with health issues as you’ve written and shared your stories. The Lord is good and we know that He will work all this out for good. It’s just hard to see your kids go through difficult things as you would rather carry that burden for them.
As we head into 2015, I’m hoping to get back into writing more sewing posts. I continue to get many great questions in your emails and I hope to answer many questions on future posts. I figure if one has a question, many more probably do as well.
Thanks for your friendship. It feels like I have thousands of sisters all over the globe!!! How fun to study the year end report and see all the different countries you log in from…some I have never heard of. I had no idea how far the Internet reaches!
Do you have any New Years sewing resolutions? I’d love to hear what they are. And I’d love for you to email me pictures of your most challenging alteration this year. It would be fun to post them for all to see. Be sure to include a little paragraph on why it was so challenging.
May 2015 be a wonderful year for you and your family!
I was pleased to hear from you again, and thanks for the update on your beautiful Granddaughter. Beginning tonight, I will include your Daughter in my prayers. I’m thankful that she and her husband are positive in their knowledge and trust in what God can do. Thanks for your wishes for a wonderful 2015, and as we sometimes say here in the South– Back At You!
Thank you so much for your kind comments and oh how we appreciate your prayers. We are very grateful!
my most challenging thing for this year was starting my alterations business after 32 years of being a nurse. One of my first alterations was to turn a 1980s jacket with big shoulder pads into a vest. for the same customer and for myself and love them.
I am new to this group and appreciate any prayers available.
You have my prayers for sure! Do you have a photo of your 1980’s jacket? That is a very impressive alteration for just beginning!
I did do photos of some work. They’re on my FB page Pins,Needles,&Hooks
I grew up sewing then laid it aside while raising my kids but no longer being able to work as a nurse I turned to what I love to do best.
I will be praying for your family. I did a thanksgiving project which I called “share the love”. It was really a chance for me to decrease my stash, but I disguised it under the name “share the love”. My mom, who also sews, was a little leary with that title. Lol. Anyhow, I had yards and yards of thanksgiving/fall fabrics. I made simple aprons for all the girls in the family for thanksgiving, including my 3 mo old neice. Every one was different. The result? We all looked cute and I passed a lot of fabric on to others–I shared the love. I would like to do this for other holidays also since I have soooo much holiday fabric.
Awesome idea! I love it and what a legacy for all the gals in your family. Do you have a photo of everyone wearing their apron?
This is a beautiful post. Trusting in God is the only way to Peace. All will be well.
Thank you!
Happy New Year to you too! Thanks for sharing. It will be a great 2015!
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and I’m so glad to see you back, even for a bit. 🙂 And as always, you’re family is in my prayers. ❤
Thank you! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too. I hope yours went well. 😊 I’ll write you soon!
Happy New Year! I’m happy to hear things are going well for you and your family. My prayers will go on for you all.
I received a sewing machine for Christmas, yea!! 🙂 What I was wondering is if there is some way to donate my old one. It works ok but might need tuning up. It’s a basic sewing machine. Any ideas.? I’m in loves park, llinois.
I’ll keep looking but was wondering what ideas you might have.
My Resolution is to sew up all my started projects and get through some of the many patterns I have, while planning and preparing for my wedding! WHEW!! That’s a lot!! 🙂
Thank you for all you do,
Rachel
Hi Rachel, thank you for your prayers. We are so grateful.
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! That is so exciting!
I was thinking that if you put the word out to friends and family, you will probably find someone to donate your machine to. Also, a nearby school might or local non profit. Isn’t want your machine. I’m sure you’ll find a good home for it it. I time!
