Encouragement

My desire is not only to create a space to cultivate your sewing skills, but also to offer a place that’s an occasional home to be encouraged, refreshed and brought to life.

Here are a few of my favorite posts that connect aspects of sewing with subjects near and dear to my heart. I hope you find them encouraging for your life.

Every orphan deserves a future with a family.

Every Orphan’s Hope helps to create new families with 12 widow-headed family homes serving 96 orphans in Zambia, Africa. EOH also has built a center with 4 homes caring for 40 babies who have been abandoned or orphaned shortly after birth. It’s an amazing ministry with an incredible story of what God has done in the lives of these precious children halfway around the world.

Here are some posts I wrote about my trip to Zambia and my experience working with the staff, mama’s and children at Every Orphan’s Hope:

God Behind Bars is an amazing ministry sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with inmates all across the country and it serves to help them prepare for life back at home after incarceration. Listen to the founder and inmates speak on the powerful impact God Behind Bars has!

No, I’ve never been incarcerated or arrested, but the Lord has placed inmates on my heart. I served in our local jail sharing the Gospel and I’ve seen firsthand the transformational work of Jesus in the lives of those behind bars. God is changing lives in prison cells and I encourage you to hear the testimonies and be a partner if you can!
